Parents:
As you know, Jason Burr, principal of John Witherspoon Middle School, will be the guest speaker at our January 25th PTO Meeting at 7PM. I often hear parent worries about sending their child to the middle school. It seems like a big place with lots of children and many teachers and big lockers and full schedules and will my child get the attention he/she needs? Yes, it is and he/she will. It's a wonderful place designed for middle-schoolers who are finding themselves, who are ready to stretch themselves and explore in both academic and extra-curricular areas.
This meeting is for all K-5 parents -- yes, even parents of a K - 2nd graders. It's never too early to meet the principal, get a feel for the philosophy and mission of the middle school, and ask questions. Put the date on your calendar!
